Article 19 in Indian Constitution

Article 19 of the Indian Constitution guarantees six fundamental rights to citizens, which are as follows:

1. Freedom of speech and expression: Every citizen has the right to freedom of speech and expression, which includes the right to express one's views, opinions, and ideas freely through any medium, including print and electronic media.
2. Freedom of assembly: Every citizen has the right to assemble peacefully and without arms.
3. Freedom of association: Every citizen has the right to form associations or unions.
4. Right to move freely throughout the territory of India: Every citizen has the right to move freely throughout the territory of India and to reside and settle in any part of the country.
5. Right to practice any profession or to carry on any occupation, trade, or business: Every citizen has the right to practice any profession or to carry on any occupation, trade, or business.
6. Right to property: This was a fundamental right under the Indian Constitution but later it was removed from the list of fundamental rights by the 44th amendment act 1978.

However, these rights are not absolute and are subject to reasonable restrictions that can be imposed by the state in the interests of the sovereignty and integrity of India, the security of the state, friendly relations with foreign states, public order, decency or morality, or in relation to contempt of court, defamation or incitement to an offense.
