There is no specific stream that is considered best for journalists in India. Journalism is a field that welcomes people from all backgrounds and education levels. You can pursue a career in journalism with any undergraduate degree, although a degree in mass communication, journalism, or English literature can be beneficial. Additionally, many journalism programs offer internships or hands-on training opportunities which can give you a head start in your career.

However, pursuing a degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, English literature or a related field can be a good start for a career in journalism as it provides students with an understanding of the media industry, the different types of media, and the skills required to be a journalist. Additionally, some news organizations may prefer to hire candidates who have a formal education in journalism.

It is also important to note that, having good writing skills, being curious, and having an interest in current affairs are the most important qualities for a journalist.
